JUNKLANDIA by Junkyard Beats

JUNKLANDIA is a blend of high energy dance, infectious laughter and nonstop fun that is guaranteed to push you off the edge of your seat.

Turning junk into funk, Junkyard Beats turns ordinary recycled materials into extraordinary musical instruments and forgotten junk comes alive in exciting and surprising ways.     

The show will end with an incredible junk orchestra, with beats created from one-of-a-kind instruments made from recycling materials during the show.

You won't look at recycled materials the same way after watching this show!

Where and when is the event?

This event is being held in the Glen Eira City Council Town Hall — Auditorium, corner Hawthorn and Glen Eira Roads, Caulfield. Sessions are on Friday 5 April at 10am and 12.30pm, and Saturday 6 April at 10am and 4pm. Sessions run for 75 minutes.

Access the venue through the Customer Service centre, where both stairs and a lift will be accessible.

Do I need to book for this event?

Yes, bookings are essential for this event at www.trybooking.com/CPMGQ

The tickets are $10 per person.

What should I bring?

No need to bring anything.

Is the event accessible?

Glen Eira Town Hall has parking spaces for those with an Australian Disability Parking Permit. Ramps and lifts are accessible for entry to the auditorium.

Is there parking available nearby?

There is one, two and three-hour parking spaces available within Glen Eira City Council Town Hall as well as parking in the surrounding streets.

We recommend walking, cycling, or catching public transport wherever possible.

The closest public transport stations to the venue are Rippon Lea Station (approx. 30-minute walk) and Caulfield Station (approx. 30-minute walk) and the closest Tram is No.64 along down Hawthorn Road.

Will there be food and drinks available for purchase?

Please note that food will not be provided. However, there are cafes located around the area.

Can I bring a pram?

Yes, prams are welcome, but we kindly ask that they be folded down and/or placed to the side during the show.

Can I smoke at the event?

No, all Glen Eira City Council events are smoke-free.

Staying COVID-safe

We ask that you do not attend Junkyard Beats if you feel unwell or are showing any COVID-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath). 

While at the event, remember to wash and/or sanitise your hands regularly.
