There are several ways to pay your Glen Eira City Council rates, including online, BPAY, phone, direct debit and Australia Post.
How to pay your rates
The default option for paying your rates is via quarterly instalments, which are due on the following dates:
- 30 September
- 30 November
- 28 February
- 31 May
If, for convenience, you wish to pay all instalments in advance by 30 September, you may.
We offer a number of payment methods for paying your rates.
Online
Make online credit card payments using our secure online payments portal.
Phone
Make a Mastercard or Visa payment by calling 1300 789 726.
Our phone payment line is open 24 hours and is available from most phones. You’ll be charged the cost of a local call, with mobiles costing extra.
Phone payments are recorded on statements as ‘Glen Eira City Council’.
Direct debit
Paying via direct debit means you won’t need to keep track of due dates or worry about late payments.
You can choose one of the following options:
- Quarterly (four payments) — amounts to be deducted on 30 September, 30 November, 28 February and 31 May (or next working day)
- Monthly (10 payments) — amounts to be deducted on the first working day of the month from September to June
If you would like us to deduct payments from your credit card, register with our secure registration site by entering your Bpay reference number on your rates notice.
To register or update existing credit card details, select Rates direct debit below.
Any arrears from previous financial years must be cleared before this option can be activated. If you’d like us to deduct payments from your bank account, download the Direct debit request form (PDF, 134KB)**, and forward to Council.
** If you are already on direct debit from your bank account there is no need to reapply unless you wish to switch to credit card. If your bank account details have changed you will need to reapply using this form.
If you want to change your account details, we need to receive the Direct Debit Request form at least 14 days before the next debit day. If you want to cancel your direct debit arrangement, we need to receive written authority at least 14 days before the next debit day.
Please note: if direct debits are dishonoured three times consecutively, this will result in the cancellation of your direct debit arrangement. Please arrange for your rates to be paid via alternative payment options or contact Council if you require further assistance
