Gender Equality Action Plan 2022–2025
Our vision for gender equality is:
‘Glen Eira aspires to lead the way on gender equality, by acting on inequalities, ensuring that all voices are heard and that opportunities are offered fairly and equitably to employees of all genders.’
The Gender Equality Action Plan 2022–2025 is informed by the data which has been gathered through a workplace gender audit which includes the People Matter Survey and developed based on two rounds of feedback from employees and from Council.
The three strategic directions are:
- Improve the gender composition of Council.
- Provide a safe and inclusive workplace.
- Reduce the gender pay gap.
The Gender Equality Action Plan 2022–2025 meets our obligations as set out under the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) and follows advice as provided by the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector. We are currently awaiting feedback from the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector and this document is subject to change based on any feedback received.
