Election information 2020
During the Council term 2020–2024 there have been two extraordinary vacancies.
On Thursday 28 April 2022, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared Sue Pennicuik duly elected to represent Rosstown Ward following the resignation of Cr Neil Pilling.
On Tuesday 9 January 2024, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared Jane Karslake duly elected to represent Camden Ward following the passing of Cr Dr David Zyngier in November.

Council election results
Following the October 2020 elections, Glen Eira’s 2020–2024 Council was officially sworn in at a Special Council Meeting held on Monday 9 November 2020.

Election campaign donation returns disclosure
Section 306(1) of the Local Government Act 2020 requires all candidates to submit an election campaign donation return to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) within 40 days after election day.
Section 307(1) requires the CEO to submit a written report to the Minister within 14 days after the period specified in section 306(1). It should specify the names of the election candidates and those who submitted Returns under section 306.
Section 307(2) of the Act requires the CEO to ensure that they publish a summary of each return on Council’s website, within 14 days after the period specified in section 306.
We must display this summary on its website until the close of the roll for the next general election.
