Local Government Act

The Local Government Act 2020 came into operation on 24 March 2020. It will be implemented in four stages between April 2020 and June 2022. The first stage requires Council to adopt the following documents by 1 September 2020:

• Audit and Risk Committee Charter
• Councillor Expenses Policy
• Governance Rules
• Public Transparency Policy

The next stage will come into effect on 24 October 2020.
