Subject: Deliver more open space and safer communities for Hotham
Dear election candidate.
As a resident of your electorate, I am writing to support Glen Eira City Council’s calls for increased federal funding to deliver more open space and improve community safety in our area.
Our community values open space, yet Glen Eira has the least per person in Melbourne, with just 4.4% of land dedicated to it. With the population set to reach 180,626 by 2036, more green space is urgently needed to support community wellbeing.
Here in Hotham, there is a unique opportunity to expand green space at the former Rosstown Community site in Ames Avenue, Carnegie. This fast-growing area urgently needs open space like this site to support the community. Glen Eira City Council has already invested $2.4 million to purchase this site and is now seeking $3 million in federal funding to transform it into a high-quality public space.
Federal partnerships are also critical for community safety. One key project is enhancing safety in the Carnegie Library and Community Centre car park laneway, to make it safer, well-lit, and more welcoming for all.
As election day approaches, I urge you to commit to securing funding for these vital projects. Expanding open space and improving safety will leave a lasting legacy for Hotham.

Dear election candidate,
As a resident of your electorate, I am writing to support Glen Eira City Council’s calls for federal funding to deliver more open space and improve community safety in our area.

Here in Goldstein, there is an opportunity to expand green space in Porter Road, Bentleigh. This project will create 2,000 square metres of public space, in an area that urgently needs more parks. Glen Eira has already invested $5.8 million to purchase and design this site and is now seeking $2 million in federal funding to transform it into a high-quality public space for all to enjoy.
Federal partnerships are also critical for community safety. One key project is enhancing safety at the Eat Street car park in Bentleigh, making it safer, well-lit, and more welcoming for all.
As election day approaches, I urge you to commit to securing funding for these projects that will leave a lasting legacy for Goldstein.

Here in Macnamara, there is a unique opportunity to expand open space at the former Elsternwick Club site. Located adjacent to the Elsternwick Activity Centre, library, schools, shops, and transport, this site has the potential to become a much-needed open space for our community. Glen Eira City Council has already invested $15 million to purchase this site and is now seeking $15.5 million in federal funding to develop it into a high-quality public space.
Federal partnerships are also critical for community safety. One key project is upgrading the Queens Avenue underpass in Caulfield East, to make it safer, well-lit, and more welcoming for all.
As election day approaches, I urge you to commit to securing funding for these vital projects. Expanding open space and improving safety will leave a lasting legacy for Macnamara.
