What is Groove and Graze 2025?

Groove and Graze is a FREE food and live music event featuring emerging local musicians and a wide range of food and drink options available to purchase.

Where and when is Groove and Graze 2025?

Groove and Graze will be held at Halley Park, Jasper Rd, Bentleigh on Saturday 5 April, 12pm–7pm.

Do I need to book for this event?

Entry to the event is free, and bookings are not required.

What should I bring?

ID – Groove and Graze is a licensed event (children accompanied by an adult are welcome within the licensed area).

Rugs, seating, and picnic equipment – there will be some seating provided but please BYO guarantee a spot.

We all know Melbourne weather can be unpredictable! This is an outdoor event so please keep an eye on the forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions.

Items to protect you from the elements – sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and wet weather gear (it is Melbourne, after all)!

Where can I sit?

Groove and Graze takes place within the lawn areas of beautiful Halley Park, limited seating is available within the zoned area. We strongly recommend guests bring their own picnic blankets to sit on as the ground may be wet.

Guests who BYO chairs will be allocated towards the back of the event space, so that all children and guests sitting on the ground can see the stage without obstruction of chairs.

Is the event accessible?

Yes, all Council events are accessible. There is a limited number of disability parking spaces available around the park, wheelchair accessible paths and accessible toilets.

Who is performing?

Headlining this year is The Cartridge Family. Starring Sarah Carroll, sister Suzannah Espie, wayward son Rusty Berther, grandpa Greg Field, cousin Nicky and Aunty Jack — the Cartridge Family, named for their breezy, sunshine-filled hillbilly, funny songs of loss and despair.

Will there be food and drinks available to purchase?

Yes, absolutely! Groove and Graze features a wide range of food trucks and a pop-up bar, with loads of delicious food and drink options available to purchase.

Can I purchase alcohol at the event, or bring my own?

Groove and Graze is a licensed event, and alcohol will be available for purchase.

BYO is not permitted.

Are there any road closures or traffic changes?

There will be no parking along Allnut and Mortimore Streets on the evening of Friday 4 April and all-day Saturday 5 April.  It will be made a one-way road from Allnut Street through to Jasper Road. We will have traffic management staff onsite monitoring these changes.

Food trucks and infrastructure vans will be entering and exiting the venue continuously from Friday 4th April night through to Saturday 5th April night.

How do I get there?

We encourage you to consider catching public transport or walk or cycle to the event if you can. Patterson Station is the closest Station located approximately a 6-minute walk away and Bentleigh and Moorabbin Station are located approximately a 15-minute walk away.

Car parking is available in surrounding streets.

What happens if there is bad weather during the event?

As this is an outdoor event, the event may need to be cancelled in case of heavy rain or dangerous weather. Council will ascertain whether the event needs to be cancelled on the day of the event, based on weather conditions as they arise.

What happens if my child gets lost?

When you arrive at the event, stop by the Glen Eira Customer Service marquee to pick up a lost child wristband. This will help us to contact you if your child is found by Glen Eira staff and security personnel.

The Glen Eira Customer Service marquee is also the meeting point for lost children where staff will be able to assist at any time. All Glen Eira City Council staff members and security personnel at the event are trained in lost child procedures.

Is there medical assistance available if needed?

St Johns staff will be on-site to provide any medical assistance if you require it.

Can I bring my pet?

All pets are welcome, especially service animals; however, you must always ensure your pet is on leash or contained for the comfort and safety of other guests. Please be aware that the event will be very busy with food trucks and live music, so please make sure your pet will feel relaxed and comfortable in this environment.

Can I bring a pram?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a pram. We will ask you to fold down the pram if you are sitting in the ‘picnic rugs only’ area located closest to the stage, to ensure nobody’s view is obstructed.

Can I smoke at the event?

No, all Glen Eira City Council events are smoke and vape free.
