Where and when is Under the Stars 2025?

Do I need to book for this event?

This is a free event, and bookings are not required.

What should I bring?

BYO picnic blankets, low-lying seats and your dancing shoes! Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks, or purchase from food trucks available on the night.

This is an outdoor evening event so make sure you check the weather forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions.

Where can I sit?

You can sit anywhere you like. There will be a ‘picnic rugs only’ area located close to the front of the stage as well as an area for dancing. Low-lying chairs are preferred so that guests sitting on the ground can appreciate an unobstructed view of the stage.

Is the event accessible?

Yes, all Council events are accessible. There is a limited number of disability parking spaces available around the park precinct, wheelchair accessible paths and accessible toilets.

We are more than happy to assist you in ensuring that you can fully participate in the event if you have access requirements. To discuss how we can help, please contact the Arts & Culture team via phone on 03 9524 3333 or via email at arts@gleneira.vic.gov.au.

Who is performing?

Headlining this year is Yacht Rock Revival, delivering the breezy, smooth sounds of '70s & 80’s light rock, funk and pop classics.

Opening the evening is the sensational Thndo, celebrated for her EP ‘Life in Colour’ (2022) and as a finalist on The Voice Australia. Drawing from R&B, hip-hop, and Afrobeats, Thndo captivates audiences with authentic songs of love, strength, and empowerment.

Will there be food and drinks available to purchase?

Yes, absolutely! There will be loads of food trucks selling a variety of delicious food.

You’re more than welcome to bring along a picnic to share with your family and friends, but we ask you not to bring any glass to avoid accidents.

Are there any road closures or traffic changes?

Traffic management staff will be on-site at all times to minimise disruptions and ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Please note the following:

As of Saturday, 22nd February, Oakleigh Road will be partially closed between Coling Avenue and Lascelles Street for community safety. Walden Grove will be local traffic only with access to driveways permitted. On-street parking and parking bays will not be available on Walden Grove. Friday, 21st February, will not be affected by the set-up of Under the Stars.

Food trucks and infrastructure vans will be entering and exiting the venue on Saturday, 22nd February. Infrastructure vans will also arrive at the venue on the morning of Sunday, 23rd April, but the roads will remain open.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in surrounding streets. We encourage you to consider alternative forms of transportation and walk, cycle or catch public transport if you can. The closest tram stop to the event is Carnegie/Truganini Rd, Carnegie (approx. 16-minute walk).

What happens if there is bad weather on the night?

As this is an outdoor event, the event may need to be cancelled in case of heavy rain or dangerous weather. Council will ascertain whether the event needs to be cancelled on the day of the event, based on weather conditions as they arise.

We will keep our social media up to date with the latest information, so make sure to follow our Facebook: www.facebook.com/gleneiraarts and Instagram: @gleneiraarts.
