Glen Eira City Council's renowned art collection features over 400 works by twentieth and twenty first century Australian artists. The collection focuses on four main themes— significant Australian artists, works by the renowned Boyd family who lived and worked in Murrumbeena, local artists and works which contain a suburban theme. The collection has been enriched through donations, purchases and commissions over five decades. Australian artists Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Emma Minnie Boyd, Merric Boyd, Doris Boyd, Lucy Boyd Beck, Hatton Beck, David and Hermia Boyd, Guy Boyd, Jane Burton, Jenny Zhe Chang, Ivan Durrant, Leonard French, Stephen Haley, Ponch Hawkes, Erica McGilchrist, Hedley Potts, Wolfgang Sievers, Linda Wachtel, Brett Whiteley, Fred Williams, Dan Wollmering and others are included in the exhibition.
