It is a prominent and striking feature within the local landscape that makes a major contribution to the neighbourhood character. It is one of the oldest trees on the school grounds and provides substantial amenity to the school children and the wider community.

The tree has a large, spreading, and asymmetric canopy shape with a major lateral limb growing out low to the ground providing a high degree of visual interest.
