  • Particularly old specimen
  • Aesthetic value

This mature and well-formed English Oak is uniquely located within the redeveloped Murrumbeena Train Station Precinct and provides a major contribution to the landscape. It is a particularly old and healthy example of an English Oak, particularly within a highly developed area. The tree is identifiable in aerial photos of Melbourne from 1945 and is estimated to be over 90 years old. The tree has significant canopy spread which provides shading over the paved public area alongside the station and visual screening of the Skyrail from the street. The tree is striking in the landscape and makes a substantial contribution to the local neighbourhood character, providing amenity to the community.
