The tree is a particularly old specimen within Glen Eira with an estimated age over 250 years. It has an impressive canopy spread with good foliage density and is strikingly located within the historic Brighton General Cemetery. The tree provides significant amenity to visitors and aesthetic value to its surroundings.

As an indigenous remnant flowering tree, it will also be a value food resource for native wildlife.
