Bailey Reserve was named in honour of Reginald W. H. Bailey, Superintendent of Parks and Gardens for the City of Moorabbin in the 1940s and 1950s. It is a highly popular and expansive sports and recreation reserve, known for its diversity of facilities. It boasts the esteemed Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) and is also home to Glen Eira's sole skate park. Visitors can enjoy a playground, a picnic shelter and BBQ facilities.

Towards the southern end of the reserve, adjacent to Gardiners Road, you will find an aquatic-themed playground, which features:
- large climbable boat with a blue and green 'sea' under surfacing
- activity boards
- spin pole
- spring rider
- swing
- climber
- megaphone.
Picnic shelter
Beside the playground, you can find a picnic shelter equipped with two tables that can be booked for a variety of gatherings and celebrations. Additionally, the nearby BBQ facilities offer another opportunity to enhance your picnic experience.
*Please note that the public toilet facilities at Bailey Reserve are located in the sporting pavilion, situated in the middle of the reserve, approximately 300 meters away from the playground.

Active recreation
Bailey Reserve has an abundance of recreational activities which include:

Conveniently situated near the playground Bailey Reserve's outdoor fitness equipment features chin-up bars, sit-up benches, step-up blocks, and more.
Did you know? Bailey Reserve is home to the East Bentleigh Soccer Club and Glen Eira Moorabbin Softball Club.
Skate park
The skate park is accessible during daylight hours and also offers facility lighting until 10pm each night for evening use. The skate park features an open spine bowl, a raised long split-level street section, as well as hubbas, rails, and ledges for skateboarders and BMX riders to enjoy.
Dog leash information
The two rectangular sports ground on the eastern side and the northern end of Bailey Reserve are off-leash areas while the western oval and southern reserve area (including the playground and outdoor gym areas) are on-leash.
Please note that dogs must be on-leash within 20 metres of barbecues and picnic areas, children’s playgrounds, sports and recreation facilities, public and sporting events (including set up and take down), as well as any park maintenance activities. It is also important to note that dogs are not allowed within fenced playgrounds or sports and recreation facilities, including the cricket nets, golf birdie cage, and skate park. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of all park visitors, including children and pets.
