Floor talk with Council’s Curator Diane Soumilas

Council’s Curator Diane Soumilas will share insights into the work and career of well-known Australian artist Erica McGilchrist (1926–2014) who was a key figure in the Australian women’s art movement, co-founding the Women’s Art Register in 1975.

McGilchrist lived and worked from her home and studio in Caulfield for many years and was dedicated to feminist concerns and women’s struggle for recognition throughout her life.

The artist explored abstract and figurative styles and environmental, feminist, and humanitarian themes throughout her career.
