A Community for All Abilities

We are changing how we support people with disability. Our A Community for All-Abilities program aims to create an accessible and inclusive community where everyone participates.

A Community for All-Abilities

Currently, five projects have been developed to create A Community for All-Abilities program.

EmployAbility Glen Eira

EmployAbility Glen Eira is designed to deliver successful and sustainable employment outcomes for people living with a disability and vulnerable youth living in Glen Eira. The program involves understanding the unique strengths, skills and interests for each individual in the program.

The program promotes workplaces that are committed to achieving a diverse and inclusive workplace. Bringing together employers and people with disabilities or vulnerable youth to offer sustainable and meaningful job opportunities.

For more information and to enquire about the program visit, the EmployAbility Glen Eira website.

GROW Glen Eira

GROW Glen Eira is an exciting and innovative horticulture training program for young people with a disability seeking open employment in horticulture. Each year, six participants will undertake a customised hands-on horticulture training program. Participants will complete work placements through Council’s Park Services and Kevin Heinze GROW’s mobile garden maintenance service ‘Grow on the Go’. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a Certificate 1 in Transition Education and Certificate 1 in Work Education.

Following the completion of the program, participants will be supported in their journey to find employment or volunteering opportunities within the horticulture industry in their community.
