What's on for carers

We host activities and events each year to recognise and support the carers in the Glen Eira community. It's a time and place for carers to relax, exercise and connect. 

Pathways for Carers Social Connect Group

Come and meet other carers as part of our Pathways for Carers group. Join us for a stroll around the local area followed by morning tea and finishing with a complimentary relaxing class. Classes will alternate between art therapy with the talented Cherie Ceberano and rotating craft, wellness or music classes. You are welcome to attend some or all parts of each session.

This activity is free and limited to carers who live in or care for someone in Glen Eira.

When: Second Friday of the month (during school terms)

10.30am —morning tea 
11am–12.30pm —class

Carers exercise classes at Caulfield Recreation Centre

Come along, take a break and join other carers to participate in a fun exercise class.  The classes are free and limited to carers who live in or care for someone in Glen Eira. You are welcome to attend classes every week or occasionally. Classes will include Zumba, Aerobics, Barre and Pilates. If the weather is suitable, you may also be able to enjoy your class outdoors and after the class relax and chat with other carers.

All participants will need to bring a towel, drink bottle, mat (if you have one). 

When: Thursdays, 11.30am to 12.15pm
Where: Caulfield Recreation Centre, 6 Maple Street, Caulfield South

Group exercise class

Fun and Friendship Afternoon

Caulfield South Community House hosts a relaxed, social afternoon with a game of cards and each week the House has something special on offer — Crafty Club, Trivia, and Painting, with a yummy afternoon tea, or just come and chat. Join local community members every Thursday during school terms.

When: Thursdays, 1pm to 3pm
Where: Caulfield South Community House, 450-452 Kooyong Road, Caulfield South (Wheelchair accessible. On street parking)
Cost: Free for unpaid carers in Glen Eira or those who care for someone in Glen Eira.
Registration: Please contact Caulfield South Community House on 9596 8643 or email admin@csch.org.au to let them know you are coming along so that they can organise materials.

All House activities require participants to join the House and pay an annual subscription. This fee will be waivered for unpaid carers in Glen Eira or those who care for someone in Glen Eira.

Fun and Friendship Afternoon

Carers of Ageing Parents Group

Join other carers of ageing parents at this monthly group, to connect, share ideas, and have fun in good company. The first 30 minutes to 1 hour will centre around an enjoyable activity, speaker, or class.  The group will then have up to an hour for mutual support over a cuppa and refreshments.

This group is free and limited to carers of ageing parents who live or care for someone in Glen Eira.

When: Fourth Monday evening of the month
Time: 7pm to 8.30pm (or 9pm, dependent upon activity duration)
Where: Godfrey Street Community House, 9 Godfrey St, Bentleigh
(Wheelchair accessible. On street parking).
Cost: Free
