What types of drink containers can I get a refund on?

  • Check for the 10 cent mark to see if the drink can, carton or bottle is eligible.
  • CDS Vic targets items that are commonly consumed away from home and found as litter.
  • Most aluminium, glass, plastic and liquid paperboard (carton) drink containers between 150mL and 3 litres are eligible.
  • You can keep the lids on.
  • No food containers are eligible.

Are there changes to what can go in the yellow recycling bin?

  • No, the items accepted in your yellow recycling bin have not changed.
  • Eligible CDS Vic items can still be recycled in the yellow bin. CDS Vic aims to complement your household recycling by focusing on litter found in the environment, which is often made up of single-use bottles purchased away from home.
