Gas cylinders cannot be placed in any household bin. Check with your retailer if they offer a take-back program to dispose of the cylinder safely.
Helium gas cylinders
Helium gas tanks can be recycled at some waste transfer stations and scrap metal recyclers (e.g. Sims Metal in Noble Park). It's best to contact waste transfer stations and scrap metal recyclers before attending. Their accepted items, disposal rates, and guidelines may change.
