Bundled branch collections:

We are experiencing delays to our bundled branch collections (including the collection of Christmas trees) due to many bookings over the holiday period. If your scheduled collection has been impacted, please leave it on your nature strip and it will be collected as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and apologise for any delays.

Smoke detectors

With their batteries removed, smoke detectors can be disposed of in the red general waste bin. Household batteries (or smoke detectors with batteries that can't be removed) can be taken to our e-waste recycling hubs, located at all Glen Eira Libraries and Moorleigh Community Village.

Smoke detectors with removable batteries

Please remove any batteries and dispose of the smoke detector in your red general waste bin. Batteries should never be placed in any household or street bins.

Batteries can be safely disposed of at B-cycle locations, waste transfer stations, and our e-waste recycling hubs, located at all Glen Eira Libraries and Moorleigh Community Village.

Smoke detectors with batteries that are not removable

If the batteries are not removable from the smoke detector, please dispose of the entire smoke detector at one of our e-waste recycling stations during Glen Eira Library opening hours. Please do not put the item in any of your household bins.

Commercial smoke detectors

Commercial smoke detectors must be returned to the retailer for safe disposal.
