Straws, both paper and plastic, go in the red general waste bin.
Straws
Plastic drinking straws are banned under Victoria's single-use plastics ban. Neither paper nor plastic straws are recycled. Where possible, refuse drinking straws when offered them at venues.
Reuse tip: If you prefer drinking through a straw, reusable options are widely available. Reusable straws are typically made of metal, bamboo or silicone and are sold with specific cleaning brushes that make cleaning them more straight-forward.
