Local community groups
Do you want to join with others to care for our environment? Glen Eira is home to many sustainability community groups that welcome new volunteers and work on a range of issues, from litter clean-ups to biodiversity initiatives to climate advocacy, and more.
Sustainability in schools and children’s centres
There are a range of educational resources and related assistance available to support local schools to take climate action and embed sustainability into their curriculum and operations.
Plastic free initiatives
Run sustainable events using our plastic free event guide and be inspired by the businesses who reduced and replaced single-use plastic items with reusable or compostable alternatives as part of Plastic Free Elsternwick.
Sustainability Advisory Committee
Our Sustainability Advisory Committee is made up of community members who provide advice to Council in relation to the climate emergency, energy, circular economy, water and biodiversity.
