Youth Engagement Team

Join our first ever Youth Engagement Team and become an advocate for young people in Glen Eira.

The Youth Engagement Team is open to young people aged 18 to 25 who are active members of the community and want to advocate for the voice of young people in Council matters.

The Team will meet on a fortnightly basis throughout each school/university term to engage in activities, initiatives and strategies that impact young people, including:

  • community engagement activities;
  • co-designing a youth-friendly engagement toolkit for use across Council; and
  • co-designing an annual Youth Survey.

Through their work, the Youth Engagement Team will provide a stronger representation of the experiences and priorities of young people living in Glen Eira.

Applications are open for 12 members for a term of 12 months, commencing in early 2024.

Members will be provided with training and support to undertake their role in the Team, with opportunities for members to nominate for leadership roles such as Chair and minute taker.

Members will also be financially reimbursed for their involvement per meeting attended.

Express your interest below to receive more information on how to nominate.
