Youth Engagement Team

Our first Youth Engagement Team commenced in February 2024 with all positions currently filled. If you would like to become a change advocate for people in Glen Eira, submit your interest below. By expressing your interest you will go on a waitlist until a position becomes available.

The Youth Engagement Team is open to young people aged 18 to 25 who are active members of the community and want to advocate for the voice of young people in Council matters.

The Team will meet on a fortnightly basis throughout each school/university term to engage in activities, initiatives and strategies that impact young people, including:

  • community engagement activities
  • co-designing a youth-friendly engagement toolkit for use across Council
  • co-designing an annual Youth Survey.

Through their work, the Youth Engagement Team provides a stronger representation of the experiences and priorities of young people living in Glen Eira.

Members are provided with training and support to undertake their role in the Team, with opportunities for members to nominate for leadership roles such as Chair and minute taker.

There are currently no vacancies; however please submit an Expression of Interest below and you will be placed on a waitlist should a position become available. Applications will open for the 2025 Youth Engagement Team towards the end of this year and the program will commence in February 2025 for a 12-month term.

Please note: to be a member of the Youth Engagement Team you must live in the City of Glen Eira.
