Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool set to open

We are proud to announce the reopening of the redeveloped Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool, a much-loved community icon now revitalised to meet the needs of future generations.

The state-of-the-art facility will open to the public from 10am to 8pm on Wednesday 8 January. 

Initially the 50-metre outdoor pool and splash pad will open, and the diving pool will be open for part of the day.

The wellness zone opens on Friday 10 January and all pool facilities will open on Saturday 11 January.

In addition, the Group Exercise programs will start from Monday 20 January 2025, and Glen Eira Leisure Swim School (GELSS) will be providing swimming lessons from the 28 January.

The $75 million redevelopment has transformed Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool into a modern aquatic and leisure space, while preserving its historic charm. Key features of the all-year-round facility include: 

  • a 50-metre outdoor pool  
  • an interactive and wheelchair accessible children’s splash pad 
  • a 25-metre indoor learn to swim pool and fully accessible warm water pool 
  • spa, sauna and steam room  
  • a 20 bed reformer Pilates studio and group exercise rooms 
  • environmentally sustainable design, featuring solar panels, energy-efficient systems, and water saving measures 
  • cafe  

The new facility was designed to welcome everyone of all ages and abilities, including wheelchair access to the main pools and splashpad. 

This refurbished centre joins Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) and Caulfield Recreation Centre as one of the great health and wellbeing assets in Glen Eira and will be enjoyed by many generations to come.
