On Monday 10 March, a Glen Eira recycling truck caught fire due to the incorrect disposal of a vacuum cleaner with a lithium-ion battery.

The Victorian Government has announced changes to activity centre planning, including Elsternwick. It will be the lead planning authority for new activity centre plans, taking over from some local councils.
