Victoria is growing, and the Victorian Government needs names for over 6,000 new places like roads, streets, suburbs and parks over the next three years.
We’re calling for nominations of exceptional individuals to be commemorated in Glen Eira’s place names. Suitable nominations will be added to Council’s name bank to consider when we’re naming a new place in our community.
Whether it’s your aunt’s community service, a teacher’s legacy, your grandmother’s war service, or a local sports legend,
let’s remember those who’ve made a lasting impact in Glen Eira.
We encourage nominations to commemorate people from all backgrounds, identities and walks of life, including women, First Peoples and multicultural communities, to ensure our local places reflect the rich diversity of our community.
To be commemorated, the person will:
Nominate an unsung local hero today!
Find out more and make a nomination through Engage Victoria’s website.
Nominations are open until Monday 30 June.
