Glen Eira Leisure Advisory Committee — are you interested in joining?

We are putting together a Glen Eira Leisure (GEL) Advisory Committee and are seeking expressions of interest.

What does the GEL Advisory Committee do?

The GEL Advisory Committee is an independent advisory committee of Council. It aims to enhance the performance of GEL and help mitigate risks associated with its operational scale, particularly after the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool redevelopment.

The Committee will have specific roles and responsibilities, including:

  • reviewing quarterly service performance reports
  • advising on annual business plans, budgets, and strategies
  • ensuring compliance with audit requirements
  • enhancing risk management and internal control practices.

There are two areas we are looking for expressions of interest:

  • Local community representative role (three positions available)
  • Industry skills-based representative role (three positions available)

Who will be on the Committee?

The Committee will consist of a minimum of three Councillors, three local community representatives and three industry skills-based representatives.

When will the Committee meet?

The Committee will commence 30 June 2025.

There will be four meetings per year.
