To recognise the significance of the date for our First Nations people and to promote understanding, respect and reconciliation, Glen Eira City Council will host a free, family-friendly event on Wednesday 26 January.
Community members are invited to join us at the Koorie Chill Out at Booran Reserve in Glen Huntly.
To be held from 5.30pm to 7pm, Koorie Chill Out will commence with a Wurundjeri Healing Ceremony followed by a Boonwurrung Smoking Ceremony. Popular Gunditjmara singer-songwriter David Arden will perform and there will also be a free barbecue.
In 2021, Council won a HART (Helping Achieve Reconciliation Together) Award from Reconciliation Victoria for its response to 26 January, and we hope for an even more successful event this year.
All welcome. Bookings essential. Visit https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=853371 to book.
