Over the next few months we’re going to be developing our new Council Plan and we want to hear your views and ideas.
What you tell us will help shape our plans for the next four years to continue to support a safe and connected community, build thriving places and businesses and protect and enhance our open space and natural environment.
It will also help us stay on the right track to progress the Community Vision that you developed — that in 2040, Glen Eira is a thriving and empowered community, working together for an inclusive and sustainable future.
This is a big and meaningful vision, and to realise it, we need to work together to plan for the outcomes we want to see.
Over the last four years, we’ve already had many conversations with our community to help us deliver the right services, shape our places, and overcome big challenges with the community’s best interests in mind.
We’ve heard that our community values their neighbourhoods and local places, and the connections they build there — from parks to recreation hubs, libraries, events, and shopping strips. And we’ve heard the community wants to be able to keep getting around to local places easily through good transport networks, safe walking and cycling routes and well-maintained roads and footpaths.
While there’s a lot of things we love about Glen Eira, we also know there are a lot of emerging challenges that are front of mind for our community and areas we can improve on.
There are lots of ways you can be part of this conversation. There’s no better time to have your say about what’s important to you, both now and into the future. Help us plan for the next four years to make sure Glen Eira is a great place to live, work and visit.

Would you like to have an even bigger impact on shaping Council's plans for the next four years? Why not apply to join the Community Priorities Panel.
As a member of the Panel, you’ll participate in five meetings, hear from Councillors and Council officers, learn more about our organisation, consider our challenges and opportunities, and provide informed recommendations to Council. Your recommendations will help to shape our plans for the next four years, building on what the broader community tells us through our survey.
Being a Panel member requires a time commitment of around 25 hours over a four-week period from 19 March to 17 April. Participants who attend all five sessions may be reimbursed for their time*.
Nominations close Sunday 23 February. Visit www.haveyoursaygleneira.com.au/2025communitypanel
