Vale Uncle Greg Muir

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that the following page contains the name and image of someone who has died. Image shared with the permission of Uncle Greg's family.

We are deeply saddened by the death last week of Uncle Greg Muir, a proud Yorta Yorta man.

Uncle Greg Muir worked for many years as a performer and visual artist. Having cerebral palsy and being institutionalised as a baby up until the age of 16, are experiences that shape his story and are shared through his art. Uncle Greg Muir was a beautiful spirit and a true artist.

Uncle Greg Muir was a founding member of our Reconciliation Advisory Committee, who came with great knowledge and purpose to support the council on its Reconciliation journey.

We will miss him greatly and send our condolences to Uncle Greg Muir’s family and community.

Vale Uncle Greg Muir.

The Glen Eira Town Hall flags will be flown at half-mast today to commemorate Uncle Greg.
