To help forecast and manage our future housing needs, we have developed a draft Housing Strategy for the City of Glen Eira.
Work on the Strategy began in early 2021 when research was commissioned to forecast our likely future housing needs and to look at what capacity there is to provide for future demand. A new neighbourhood character assessment was also prepared to describe the essence of our local areas and to help determine the future character of these areas.
In our first round of community engagement, held in July and August 2021, we asked people to provide their views on the current provision of housing in Glen Eira and their impressions on the future of housing, as well as a range of questions about place, character and liveability.
Feedback on these topics, as well as the neighbourhood character assessments, demographic trend forecasts and a land capacity assessment, have all been used to help prepare the draft Housing Strategy.
Our second round of community engagement is now open and we encourage all members of the community to get involved and find out more about the draft Housing Strategy.
Visit our Have You Say website for a full list of engagement activities, including bookable COVID-safe drop-in sessions and an online survey.
Have your say by Sunday 10 April 2022.
