Between 16 December 2020 and 3 February 2021, we sought community feedback on the draft Community Engagement Policy. We wanted to know whether community members were satisfied with promises set out in the draft and their thoughts on great community engagement.

You Said

We heard that great community engagement is about openness and transparency, being as inclusive as possible and actively listening to the community. Overall, the community were satisfied with the promises set out in the draft Policy.

We Did

We amended wording of the Policy to state we will actively listen to the community and be inclusive in our approach by providing information in other languages where possible. We included examples where we might advocate on behalf of the community.

Council adopted the Policy at its meeting on 23 February 2021.
