Activities are open to young people aged 12 up to 18 years old with a connection to Glen Eira. Bookings open Monday 9 of December at 9am and close Friday 20 of December at 5pm

2025 Youth Services Summer Hangout

Youth Services will be running free community events in locations around Glen Eira where young people can hangout with each other, meet the youth services team, play games and eat some free food.

Splatball FT. Karaoke & Games

Tuesday 14 January

Hang out with us and play a variety of games including karaoke, console games (we have switch and playstation) and board games.

Platoon up afterwards as we head to splatball. Splatball is a fun and engaging team-based cat and mouse game. Take aim and take cover in this thrill-seeking game, and don’t be afraid to end the day in a colourful mess. Enlist now.

Time: 10am to 5pm
What to bring: Myki for bus, water bottle, snacks and clothes you don’t mind getting messy

East Coast Kayaking

Wednesday 15 January

Rise early this summer but stay cool as we team up with East Coast Kayaking. Never been kayaking before but love the water? This is the perfect way to start 2025 with something new. Kayaking is a very social activity, and it's easy to talk and laugh while you paddle around and navigate the water. It is fun and easy to learn the basics and quick to get a thrill so don’t miss out.

Please note participants must wear the following:

  • Old runners or closed toe shoes (that can get wet), NO thongs, Crocs, and or Slides
  • Quick dry board shorts (thermals are good under shorts to keep the legs warm)
  • Fleece jumper / Thermal Top (stays warm when wet)
  • Light rain jacket to block the wind
  • Neck gaiter & baseball cap (winter) or broad brim hat (summer programs)
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes and a spare change of clothes
  • No valuables (phones don't float).

Time: 9.30am to 1pm
What also to bring: BYO lunch or snacks, water bottle

Pizza My Heart

Thursday 16 January

Know a better combination then pizza and movie? Join us for fun and interactive cooking class where we will be making pizza from scratch! Put your chef’s hat on as we go gourmet with your creativity, making pizza dough with some of your favourite pizza toppings. Enjoy your work after as we kick back for an indoor movie with comfy cushioning.

Time: 10am to 4pm
What to bring: Water bottle, clothes to cook in

Glide or Slide @ the Ice Rink

Tuesday 21 January

Want to be active this summer but want to avoid the heat? Join us as we cut rings at our local ice-skating rink. Whether you are an expert and love skating or keen to give it a first-time crack come down for some summer fun. Chill with us before hang in the shade with some icy poles and games.

Time: 10am to 4pm
What to bring: BYO snacks, water bottle
Drop off/Pick up: Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub, 161 Jasper Road, Bentleigh

Art Attack

Wednesday 22 January

If arts and crafts is your jam, then this is the one for you. Come down the to the Bentleigh Youth Hub as we will be running an art workshop. Unleash your inner Michealangelo and get creative with dry clay art, or paint like Picasso on canvas. Participants will also get the opportunity to learn rug tufting a unique and vibrant form of art. Don’t miss out.

Time: 10am to 2pm

Power Play Go Karting

Thursday 23 January

We’re ending our school holidays in a thrill. Join us for Go- K karting at Powerplay Moorabbin. Go-karting will fill you with an electrifying experience of excitement as you race for first place. Go-kart tracks are designed with safety in mind, and trained staff members are on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Hang out with us before with a variety of games before you suit up behind the wheel.

Time: 10am to 2pm
