Small project, big impact — Community Place Project

Do you have an idea for a small project that could make a big difference in your local area? We’d like to hear from you!

We are looking for creative, community-driven ideas that enhance our busiest areas. Your project will reflect local needs and interests, helping create vibrant and safe places.

Whether it’s a mural to help prevent graffiti, fairy lights to brighten a dark laneway, a native garden to discourage illegal dumping or temporary colourful public seating to encourage social connections — your idea could make a real difference.

We’re looking for small projects that are easy to deliver, have local support and can make a big impact.

This is a trial program as part of our Placemaking Strategy and has been designed to transform community ideas into real improvements.

If your idea is chosen, we’ll work with you to deliver the project. We will provide the resources and support needed to bring these projects to life. Together, let’s make our community spaces shine.

Submissions are open until Sunday 5 January 2025, so now’s the time to get involved. For more information or to submit your ideas, visit our Have Your Say page.
