Councils working together to deliver valued services

In a display of cross-council collaboration, we have signed the agreement for Bayside City Council to deliver in-home and social support services on behalf of Glen Eira.

This new arrangement will ensure council-led services will provide a high level of care for our community now and into the future. Bayside City Council is one of four Melbourne Metropolitan councils who have made the decision to continue to deliver in-home care services when the Australian Government’s aged care reforms are fully implemented. Bayside City Council has delivered its services for more than 50 years and like Glen Eira, it has a strong and trusted reputation within the community and has developed invaluable expertise in the sector.

We will now move to the next phase and focus on supporting our clients and staff for a successful transition, starting on 11 November 2024. Staff will be given the opportunity to be employed by Bayside City Council and continue their delivery of services with their existing Glen Eira clients. We will also have a dedicated team based at Glen Eira who will support our community to help navigate the aged care system.

This change does not affect Warrawee Residential Aged Care services which we will continue to own and manage.
