Council is looking for historical photographs of Bentleigh and Elsternwick — particularly those that reflect the development of Centre Road and Glenhuntly Road shopping strips — for new mobile walking apps.

If you have any historical photographs of Centre Road or Glenhuntly Road, or stories that reflect the development of these iconic retail strips, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly interested in images spanning from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Please email arts@gleneira.vic.gov.au or contact Council’s Service Centre on 9524 3333 and ask to speak with a member of the History and Heritage team.

These walks will follow on from the success of the Boyd Walking Tour, which celebrates the Boyd family’s enduring story and connection with the Murrumbeena community.

Don’t forget you can download this tour now from the App Store or Google Play be searching “Glen Eira Walking Tours”.
