The Labor Party has confirmed two more pre-election funding commitments towards upgrades for Packer Park and Murrumbeena Park if they are elected to Federal Government this May.
$1.53 million will be allocated to build a new club and change rooms at the Packer Park Velodrome and $416,000 will be invested towards a new LED lighting system at Murrumbeena Park.
Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jim Magee welcomes the commitments announced on Sunday by Labor candidate for Higgins Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah and said the new upgrades will allow for better usage of the sportsgrounds.
“The facilities are vital parts of our local community where people of all ages connect, play and grow,” he said.
“By partnering with Federal Government for these local projects, it enables Council to meet the needs of growing sports clubs and our community in Glen Eira.”

Despite reported issues with SKM recycling facilities and major disruptions in the recycling industry, Council’s recycling service remains unaffected and recyclables from our waste services are not going to landfill.
