It’s that time of year again when Council checks in on your furry friends. If your pet is currently registered, you will soon be receiving your annual renewal notice from us. Payment is due by 10 April 2022.
Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jim Magee said registration is the best form of identification for pets.
“It makes it easier for Council’s civic compliance officers to identify and return your pet if it becomes lost,” he said.
“Once a pet is registered, a new lifetime registration tag is provided which the pet must wear whenever it is outside its owner’s property.
“Owners who have had their dog trained through an approved dog obedience training organisation will also be eligible for reduced registration fees.”
If there are any changes in ownership details or you’ve lost or damaged your pet’s lifetime tag, contact Council’s Service Centre on 9524 3333 or send an email to mail@gleneira.vic.gov.au
All dogs and cats aged three months and over must be registered. If you have recently taken ownership of a new dog or cat, register online today.

Despite reported issues with SKM recycling facilities and major disruptions in the recycling industry, Council’s recycling service remains unaffected and recyclables from our waste services are not going to landfill.
