Glen Eira City Council is inviting community members to have their say on how we can make our public spaces even better.
We are developing a draft Placemaking Framework to assist in the activation and revitalisation of our public spaces and activity centres. The Framework will also help guide the delivery of projects and events by Council and the community.
Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jim Magee said Council facilitates placemaking in a range of ways.
“Infrastructure projects like Bentleigh Eat Street refresh an existing public space, while the installation of parklets along Koornang Road in Carnegie provides engaging and safe outdoor dining options for our residents,” he said.
“We always strive to provide the highest quality service to the community, with a strong focus on innovation.”
It’s important that we look at ways to keep our places and spaces well designed and fit for their current and future needs. Council wants to hear what you value about the places and spaces where you like to spend time to help us
prioritise the actions we should take to make our public spaces even better.

Consultation closes Sunday 27 March 2022.

Despite reported issues with SKM recycling facilities and major disruptions in the recycling industry, Council’s recycling service remains unaffected and recyclables from our waste services are not going to landfill.
